Mrs. C. E. Tobey was called by death Wednesday afternoon, April 22, at the home of her daughter Mrs. E. L. Kendall at Dallas where she made her home. She has been seriously ill for the past few weeks. The remains were brought to Nocona Thursday and buried Friday beside her husband who preceded her in death. Those being present: Mrs. E. L. Kendall of Dallas, Mrs. T. J. Smith of Fort Smith, Arkansas besides the Nocona relatives, Mrs. W. A. McCall and family. Angelina Peplin was born in Pope County, Arkansas, was 82 years old on April 2, married Charles Edward Tobey at Norristown, Arkansas in 1847. Mr. Toby died at the age of 95 years last October. Eleven children were born to them, nine are living: Mrs. Lourine Brooks, of St. Louis, Missouri; Mrs. W. M. Daniel of Henryetta, Oklahoma; Ellis Tobey, C. E. Tobey Jr., and S. H. Tobey  in California; Mrs. T. J. Smith of Fort Smith, Arkansas; Mrs. E. L. Kendall of Dallas, and Mrs. W. A. McCall. She made her home in Arkansas until 1889 when her family moved to California, then to Texas in 1901, making their home in Nocona for the most part of the time. She was laid to rest beside her husband on April 24, 1914. A funeral service was held at Dallas before leaving for Nocona and a quiet service at the McCall residences before interment.
