Alton Wayne "Pete" Langford of Henrietta passed away Tuesday, December 19th, 2017 at the age of 79. Pete was born to Roy and Dorothy Langford December 14th, 1938 in Wichita Falls. Pete married Lula (King) February 18, 1961 in Nocona, where the couple then made their home. Pete worked for Nocona Boot Factory for nearly 38 years before retiring. In addition to working in the factory, Pete worked in shipping for the factory, driving the boot truck for much of his career.
Pete was preceded in death by his parents Roy and Dorothy and his step-father, Harvey Langford, and a sister Virginia Sue Langford. Pete is survived by his wife Lula; daughter LaMesia Howard and husband Jim; son Ollie "Lee" Langford; grandsons James Howard and wife Emily, and Jared Howard; and great-grandsons Joel Howard and Ben Howard; as well as his brothers Cash Langford and wife Lavonda; and Bob Langford and wife Marianne.
Pete loved his family and friends, and was known to enjoy chewing a cigar everywhere he went. He loved Nocona and was proud to call it his hometown. Pete will be deeply missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing him.
A private service will be held for Pete.
