Mrs. Gayle Laverne Johnson passed from this life on April 24, 2018 in Nocona, Texas, at the age of 96. She was born on August 3, 1921 on a farm near Montague, Texas to Charles and Ruby Titsworth. Gayle married Morris Johnson on June 19, 1937 and made a home for them. She is preceded in death by her husband Morris Johnson and a grandson Kyle Johnson. Gayle is survived by her sons: James Johnson and wife Susan and Jerry Johnson and wife Helen. Gayle is also survived by nine grandchildren, seventeen great-grandchildren and 4 great-great grandchildren. Gayle was a devoted Christian, and was truly gifted in showing care and hospitality. She always sent cards of encouragement, delivered food to people in need, drove people to doctor's appointments at to the hospital when they needed it. She continued to serve throughout her life up until her health simply would not allow it, and even then read her Bible daily until her vision would not allow it. Gayle was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great grandmother, and a shining example of service, love, and grace. She is already deeply missed, but she went to receive the reward Jesus has prepared for her. Gayle's family will say farewell at a private service.
