Eudeal "Chick" Green passed from this life Saturday, September 5th, 2020 at his home in Nocona. He was 83.
Chick was born December 2, 1936 to Clyde and Ruby Green. Chick met the love of his life, Dora, and they married in 1963. They had been married nearly 50 years when Dora passed away in 2013.
Chick believed in hard work. At the age of 13 he began working full time working with cement. Many of the curbs still in Nocona today were poured by Chick. Along the way, Chick also worked at McNabb's Feed Store for 24 years, then at Indian Oaks Golf Course as the greenskeeper for 12 years. Chick also served many families in their time of grief, digging graves and setting headstones for countless Nocona residents over the years. Most days, after everyone else had gone home, Chick kept working well into the dark.
Chick was a devoted Christian. He enjoyed worshiping with many different congregations over the years, as long as he got to worship God. His faith and work ethic combined to make a man who would help anyone at any time with anything.
When he wasn't hard at work, Chick loved going dancing and spending time outside. Chick loved his family and spending time with them. He was so proud of his kids, grandkids, and great-grandkids!
Chick was preceded in death by his loving wife Dora, his brother Odis Green, and his daughter Latressa Stephenson. He is survived by his children: Carolyn Henson of Nocona, Tony Huskey of Nocona, and Jimmy Green (and wife Brenda), of Muenster; grandchildren Lorinda Timms, Jessica Vogler, Jacob Weaver, Rocky Stephenson, Blake Green, Brett Huskey, and Brendon Huskey, nephews Michael Green and Dwayne Green, niece Angela Green, sixteen great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
Chick was one-of-a-kind! He will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and the entire community of Nocona. Chick's funeral will be Friday, September 11 at 11:00 AM at Nocona Cemetery in the Gazebo, under the direction of Scott-Morris Funeral Home. Chick's grandsons Jacob Weaver, Rocky Stephenson, Blake Green, Brett Huskey, and Brendon Huskey and great-grandson Jason Harnois will serve as pallbearers. Nephews Michael Green and Dwayne Green will serve as honorary pallbearers.
