Bill McCracken of Nocona, Texas passed on Monday, March 8,2021 in Nocona, Texas at the age of 86 years

William “Bill” Marion McCracken was born in Bonita Texas on April 17, 1934 to Fred and Artie Able McCracken. 

He served in the Army for several years, worked for Republic Supply for 18 years, then went to work in the leather industry and retired from the Nocona Boot Company after over 20 years of service. Bill retired from the Nocona City Fire Department in 2009 after serving over 37 years of service.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Frankie Jean Stambaugh McCracken of 66 years, in June 2020,  He is survived by, one daughter, Jean Burton and husband Lynn Burton of Sherman Texas, two sons: Steve McCracken and wife Becky, and Stan McCracken and wife Cindy McCracken both of Nocona, Texas. Eight grandchildren: Kara Burton, Matthew Burton and wife Tanya, Brooks Burton and wife Jennifer, Will McCracken and wife Alexis, Travis McCracken and wife Korrie, Masey McCracken, Ashley McCracken, Cole McCracken and wife Kendra. Ten great-grandchildren: Brinley and Madison Burton, Eleanor and Merritt Burton, Liam and Lindyn McCracken, Bayler and Brantlie McCracken and Kiley and Kinsley McCracken. Sisters: Freddie Bingham, Arlington Tx, Virginia Weaver and husband Willard, Arlington, Tx and Mary Reed, Nocona, Tx.

Graveside services will be, Thursday, March 11, 2021 at 11:00 am at the Nocona Cemetery under the direction of Jerry Woods Funeral Home with Dave Woodbury officiating. Pallbearers will be his grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers the family wanted memorials made to the Nocona City Fire Department.
