Shirley Lucille Reynolds Lowrie entered Heaven on November 3, 2023 in Nocona, TX. Shirley was born on October 24, 1933 in Nocona to William Atkins Reynolds and Mildred Lucille Hancock Reynolds.

She graduated from Nocona High School in 1951. She then attended North Texas University briefly. On Thanksgiving Day, November 25, 1954 she married Dwayne Condell Lowrie at First Baptist Church in Nocona, TX. They had three daughters, who were the lights of their lives, Lisa, Connie and Barbi. Shirley worked as a Junior High librarian for many years. After completing her BS in education from Midwestern State University, she taught elementary school in Henrietta, TX, and finished her career at Nocona Middle School. She was involved in the activities of her daughters and helped with Sunday School, Campfire, and many Vacation Bible Schools of First Baptist. She was an accomplished pianist and played for First Baptist Church for many years. She taught piano lessons and accompanied many vocalists for weddings and funerals. She also played piano for many school PTA programs. She loved her piano and encouraged her children to play. She was also a talented artist and enjoyed oil and china painting. After retirement, she and Condell enjoyed traveling with family and friends. They were avid fans of all types of music and could often be seen on the dance floors in the local and surrounding areas. Shirley was a wonderful mother, loving wife and loyal friend and was adored by her daughters. She really excelled, however, at being “Mimi” to her 5 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her sister Barbara Lee Rolls, and by her loving husband Condell. She is survived by her daughters, Lisa and husband Donny McCoy of Grapevine, TX, Connie and husband Jim McMahan of Wichita Falls, TX, Barbi and husband Bill Holcomb of Nocona, TX. Her grandchildren, Tyler Sharp and fiancé Caris Fawcett, Molly & Corey Reynolds, , Connor Sharp, John McMahan, Lara and Cason Bennett, and great-grandchildren, July, June, Adeline, Evelyn and Eleanor and niece, Kim Rolls.

Services will be Tuesday, November 7, at First Baptist Church in Nocona. Visitation will be from 1 – 3 P.M. at the First Baptist Church Fellowship Hall with a Celebration of Life to follow at 3 P.M. in the church. Dr. Joel McCoy, cousin of the family, will be officiating.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Tales “N” Trails Museum, the Nocona Carpenter Shop, or any charity that is dear to your heart. The family would like to express sincere and heart felt thanks to the staff of Cherry Street Village and to the staff of Nocona General Hospital for the loving care and attention that was shown to our precious mother. We will not forget the acts of kindness and professionalism.
