Terry Darnell Murphey, age 71, passed away surrounded by her loving family on Monday, April 15th, 2024, in Nocona, Texas. 

She was born December 21st, 1952, in Post, Texas to Garnie Randolph and Edith Christine Cowley. She is preceded in death by her parents, two siblings, Bobbie and Carroll Cowley, and reunited with her beloved husband of 49 years Jerry Murphey.

She is survived by her loving children, son, Randy Murphey and wife, Keila, of Nocona, Texas; son Bill Murphey and wife, Amy, of Nocona, Texas; and daughter Robin Slowey and husband, Chris, of Lakeside City, Texas; six grandchildren, Emma and Sam Murphey, Wesley and Walker Murphey, and Caitlin and Connor Slowey; and sister, Linda Shaw and husband, Ray, of Nocona, Texas; sister-in-law, Melinda Cowley of San Angelo, Texas and many nieces and nephews.

Terry spent most of her career working with and caring for children at Nocona ISD in the cafeteria and as a childcare provider at Nocona DayCare Center. Not only did Terry love and care for children she was a loved co-worker. She was a friend to everyone and never met a stranger. She enjoyed reading novels in her spare time, watching cooking shows, and her many animals that she took in because she could not turn them away. That being said, nothing meant more to her than her family. Her children and grandchildren were her pride and joy. She will be deeply missed by all that knew and loved her.

Visitation will be held at Jerry Woods Funeral Home, Wednesday, April 17th, from 6:00-8:00pm. A graveside service will be held on Thursday, April 18th at 11:00 am at Nocona Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Lucky Paws Animal Shelter in Nocona, Texas.
