Roma Lea Hill, 89, passed away on Tuesday, November 30, 2004 at Coastal Palms Nursing Center in Portland, TX. She was born October 14, 1915 in Mallard, TX to Tom and Annie Richardson. Roma graduated from Prairie Valley High School in 1933. On October 11, 1935 she married Ronald Gerald Hill at the parsonage in Valley View, TX. They lived in Nocona, TX most of their lives. She worked as a clerk at Nocona City Gas and then Lone Star Gas Company until her retirement. In 1984 she and her husband moved to Portland, TX to be near their daughter and family. She enjoyed quilting, gardening and doing ceramics. A memorial service was on Monday, December 6, 2004 at 2:00 p.m. at Scott Morris Funeral Home in Nocona. She was buried beside her husband in the Nocona Cemetery. Scott Morris Funeral Home directed the services. Survivors include: one daughter, Brenda and husband Griffin VanZandt of Portland, TX; one son, Ronnie & wife Joan Hill of Robert Lee, TX; two sisters, Fannie Lou Sims and Kate Sturdevant; two granddaughters, Sheryl & husband Kevin Sigler and Cynthia & husband Ted Turner; two grandsons, Ron & wife Leslie Hill, Jr. and Eric Hill; great grandchildren, Darren Sutton, Clare Turner and Emily Turner. She was preceded in death by: her parents; her husband Ronald in 1990; three sisters, Dora Oxford, Rose McLaughlin and Lizzie Murphy; one brother, Bill Richardson
