After being seriously ill for some time, Mrs. Mary A. Pledger died last Saturday, March 21. She died at the home of J. B. Apple, her grandson, and was nearly 88 years old, having been born in Hall County, Georgia March 31, 1827. Mary A. Chastain married Thomas H. Pledger of Walker County, Georgia October 10, 1843; moved to Johnson County, Arkansas in 1850 and thence to Texas in 1906. Of her eight children, four sons and four daughters, five of them and her husband preceded her in death. The funeral service was held at the Apple home Sunday afternoon by Rev. N. R.
