After a trying illness of some two years, suffering from tuberculosis, death claimed Mrs. J.A. Menasco last Saturday morning. She lived with her family near Red River Station and leaves her husband and four little children to mourn her passing. She was 28 years old on February 1. She had been a member of the Missionary Baptist Church since she was 13 and died happy in faith. The burial was at Nocona Cemetery Sunday afternoon. Rev. W. H. Pitts of Belcherville conducted the services at the home and Rev. Weathers at the cemetery. Her mother, Mrs. J. R. Nix of Asher, Oklahoma, and brothers, W. J. and Louis Nix of near Aubrey were here for the funeral.
