John was born in Ada Oklahoma on January 15th, 1928. John was a member of the Bethel Baptist Church of Nocona, the Bowie American Legion Post and the Air Stream Club and the Nocona Dairy Queen Social Club. John served in the U.S. Army and retired after 33 years of service.

Funeral Services were Wednesday, October 6th, 2010 at 11 a.m., Graveside, with Dale Berry officiating. Services were directed by Scott-Morris Funeral Home.

John is survived by his wife, Willie Mae Henry of Nocona; sons, Mike Henry of Marshall, TX, Hal Lemons of Nocona; daughters, Deborah Riggs of McCloud, OK, Fronda Hudson of Midwest City, OK; and eight grandchildren.
