DL was born on June 14, 1923 in Illinois Bend, TX. He attended Jean’s Men’s Bible Class and was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Nocona. He was a retired farmer and rancher and had owned Thompson’s Store, a grocery store, located in Valley View. DL served his country during WWII in the US Army.

Funeral services were Wednesday, October 27, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. at the First United Methodist Church with Rev. Dave Woodbury officiating. Burial followed in Nocona Cemetery. Services are under the direction of Scott-Morris Funeral Home.

DL is survived by one granddaughter, Carie Thompson Bader and 3 grandsons, Tony Thompson, Erick Thompson, and Chris Thompson.
