NOCONA - Jewel Tucker Phillips, 93, passed away Jan. 8, 2014 in the Nocona General Hospital, Nocona, TX.

Visitation will be at 1:30 p.m., and service will be at 2:30 p.m. Jan. 11 at the First Baptist Church in Nocona.

Jewel Tucker Phillips was born Oct. 1, 1920, to Wiley and Minnie Barbee Tucker in Spanish Fort. Jewel married Scott Phillips, Aug. 12, 1939. They lived most of their married life in Nocona. Scott preceded her in death in June, 1990. She was a happy, loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother. These grandchildren and great grandchildren enriched her life, and she loved them dearly. She attended their programs and sports events even when she was in a wheelchair. She was a faithful member of the First Baptist Church of Nocona for more than 75 years. She belonged to the Fidelis Sunday School class and a prayer group that met weekly. She attended the Breakfast Club; she looked forward to each month. Jewel had a sharp sense of humor that kept her friends and family laughing and entertained. She enjoyed dancing, traveling, talking, cooking and being with friends and family. She loved life and people.

Jewel is survived by her children, Shirley Phillips Porter and husband Wayne, College Station; Sandra Phillips Reynolds and husband Harold, Nocona; Danny Phillips, Stephenville; six grandchildren: Karri Reynolds Hackley and husband Matt, Nocona; Kyle Reynolds and wife Amy, Nocona; Weston Porter and wife Erin, College Station; Brad Porter and wife Thara, Honolulu, HI; Dillon Phillips, Houston and Dewayne Phillips, Stephenville; seven great grandchildren, Allie Hackley, Kady Hackley, Lindey Hackley, Taylor Reynolds, Lance Reynolds all of Nocona, and Wyatt Porter and Owen Porter, College Station; three nephews, Mike Graham and wife Ellen, Sherman, TX; Bobby Graham, Gainesville; and Randy Graham and wife Jackie, Gainesville; niece, Linda Frost and husband Raymond, Spanish Fort and cousin, Bill Taylor.

Pallbearers, Matt Hackley, Kyle Reynolds, Weston Porter, Dillon Phillips, Dewayne Phillips and Lance Reynolds.

Honorary pallbearers, Frank Collier, Raymond Frost, Condell Lowrie, Bill Taylor and Winton Woods.
