Reva Rae Barnett, 86, of Farmers Branch, Texas, passed away on June 25, 2017. Reva was born September 1, 1930 In Montague County, Texas near Nocona to James Holliday and Pearl Bonds. She graduated from Prairie Valley High School and then attended St. Paul's School of Nursing in Dallas and graduated in 1951 as a registered nurse. She moved to Gainesville, Texas, and worked as a surgical nurse. There she met Duncan Barnett. They married on Nov. 1, 1952, and were married for 64 years, only separated when he died November 24, 2016. Reva stopped working outside of the home when she had her first child and became a full-time homemaker. She continued to use her nursing education, taking excellent care of her family all of her life. She was an avid seamstress, particularly in her early years, making clothes for her children and even making clothes for their dolls. She enjoyed her family, both past and present. She spent time looking into her genealogy, and was very proud of her deep Texas roots, with ancestors dating back four generations, as well as her ancestry from the Choctaw nation. She also loved getting together with her family to celebrate milestones and holidays. She enjoyed camping, boating and fishing in her younger years, birding, gardening, rock hunting and making jewelry in her later years and collecting antique glass in her last season.
Reva lived in Texas all of her life, from Prairie Valley and Gainesville to Wichita Falls and Port Lavaca to Carrollton and Farmers Branch, where she has lived since 1963.

She is survived by her three daughters, Brenda Overton and husband Phillip, Karen Giles and husband Travis, and Debra Fournerat and husband Robert: four grandchildren, Kristy Overton, Michael Overton and wife Tiffany, Jessica Giles-Boardman and husband Trey, and Tracy Juarez and husband Joe: along with three great-grandchildren, Mona, Sandra, and Katherine Juarez and two great-grandchildren anticipated to make an arrival in the near future.
She was predeceased by her brother, Jon Roger Bonds.

In remembering her, we remember her sweetness, with a hint of mischief, her fun-loving side, her beautiful thank-you cards that showed her love and care for us, her amazing ability to embrace technology (she taught us how to call a Lyft!) and her steadfast love of Duncan.

Please consider a donation in Reva's memory to the Texas Parks and Wildlife Foundation, whose mission is to "ensure that all Texans, today and in the future, can enjoy the wild things and wild places of Texas."
