Mrs. Ina Gertrude Gass was born April 10, 1889 at St. Jo and died Sept. 1, 1917 at Nocona. She was the daughter of Mrs. Jeter, who lives on the south side of town. She married Abner Gass in 1905 and he passed on a few years ago. Three children were born to them, two boys and one girl: Roy, Alma and Charles Cecil. She joined the Methodist Church at age of 10 , was a most devoted mother, and always of very cherry disposition, making friends of all who knew her. For many weary months past she has suffered from that dreaded tuberculosis until finally death called her last Saturday afternoon at 4 o'clock. The service was held at the Methodist Church Sunday afternoon, Rev. Minor Bounds conducting the service. The interment was immediately afterward at the Nocona Cemetery. We extend our sincere sympathy to the bereaved family, and especially to the little orphans. Source: Nocona News - September 7, 1917
