Bobby Lee Vicks, 62, of Nocona passed away peacefully at home on Friday, Aug. 9, 2019. Bobby was born on May 12, 1957, in Dallas to Cecil Melvin Vicks and Betty Mildred Angell Vicks. Bobby grew up in Montague County and was raised by his grandparents, Herbert and Nancy Angell. Bobby attended local schools and graduated from Prairie Valley High School in 1975. He honorably served his country during a distinguished 22-year career in the United States Marine Corp serving both stateside and abroad. He proudly served in Kuwait during Operation Desert Storm. After retiring from the Marine Corp, Bobby returned home to Texas and worked for Sears in Plano and Frisco before recently returning to Nocona. Bobby loved the outdoors and was an avid hunter and fisherman. Bobby won his first hunting award as a young child winning the Spanish Fort Coon Hunters treeing contest. Bobby loved his country and his family. He was a devoted father and grandfather. Bobby was preceded in death by his parents’; his grandparents; and his sister Nancy Kuchenmeister. He is survived by his son Joshua and wife Rosanna Vicks; daughter Malory and three beloved grandchildren Nickolas, Katarina and Isabella. A member service was held Saturday, Aug. 24, at Molsbee Chapel Church with Donald Cheshier officiating. Interment was at the Nocona Cemetery.
