NOCONA – Verna Ruth O’Neal, 93, died on Sept. 15, 2019 in Nocona, TX.
The visitation will be at 1 p.m. on Sept. 20 at the First United Methodist Church in Nocona followed immediately by the service at 2 p.m. officiated by the Minister Ron Wilson and her son Gary O’Neal. The interment will follow at Nocona Cemetery.
O’Neal was born on Feb. 2, 1926 in Bonita to Raymond and Winnie Combs Buck. She married her high school sweetheart Lindell O’Neal on Dec. 28, 1943.
She worked at the People’s National Bank for many years and as a registered nurse for Nocona General Hospital. She and her husband owned several businesses including Horizon Manor Nursing Home in Nocona and O’Neal Oil Co.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; sisters, Billie Ray Buck and Linda Jane Williams; brother, Dale Buck; and two grandchildren, Marty O’Neal and Elan O’Neal.
She is survived by her sons, Jerry O’Neal, Nocona, and Gary O’Neal, Dallas; sisters, Bettie Brinkerhoff, Roanoke, Mary and Lynn Adams and Anna Hickman all of Nocona; brothers, Harold Buck; Burneyville, OK, Glen Buck; Wilson, OK and Don Buck, Wilson, OK; nine grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren.
Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
