Mary Frances Reed, 84, passed from this life on December 11, 2025 in Nocona, TX. She was born on January 31, 1941 in Shady Grove, TX to Fred McCracken and Artie Able McCracken.

Mary grew up going to school at Prairie Valley where she excelled in basketball, until her family had to move to Odessa where she finished high school. After her father died the family moved back to Nocona in 1959 where she went to work at Rick’s Drive-In. She then started her career at Nocona Boot Company as a secretary and worked her way up to Ms. Enid Justin’s personal assistant. She worked at the boot company close to 30 years, then retired and she bought Nocona Floral and ran it for a over 10 years. After having the flower shop, Mary worked at Weber for a few years until she got her real estate license and worked a few more years for Keller Williams, before she and Ray built their dream log cabin at Nocona Lake and lived there until their health failed and they moved into town. While she worked as a florist, she met Raymond H. “Ray” Reed and they later got married on December 17, 1992. Mary was very involved in the community of Nocona being the first woman along with Ella Williams to join the Rotary Club which was very monumental because all of the members were not in favor of a woman joining the club. She and Ray brought the very first car show to Nocona that was so impressive and still enjoyed to this day. She was a former board member of the Nocona Chamber of Commerce. She headed up the Nocona Economic Development Committee. She was one of the heads of the Nocona Cemetery Association. She also worked tirelessly and supported the Buckle Up for Lane’s Sake Tournament. She had a great belief and love for the Lord while she grew up and attended First United Methodist Church in Nocona. She was also in charge of many things at the church, including meetings and the floral arrangements.

Mary is survived by her sister, Virginia “Sissy” Weaver & husband Willard of Arlington, TX, 11 nieces and nephews and numerous great and great-great nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, Ray Reed, siblings, Charles “Tinker” Blasious, Oleta “Mack” Fenoglio, Freddie May Bingham, and Bill McCracken.

There will be a visitation on Monday, December 15, 2025 from 5 – 6 P.M. at Jerry Woods Funeral Home. A funeral service will follow on Tuesday, December 16, 2025 at 11 A.M. at First United Methodist Church with Pastor Vallerie Sewell officiating. Interment will follow in Nocona Cemetery. Pallbearers will be, Stan McCracken, Steve McCracken, Donald “Donnie” Fenoglio, Tommy Fenoglio, Bradley Hugnagle, Roy Bingham and Billy Bingham.
