Georgia Marie Maier, 73, passed from this life on February 17, 2026 in Nocona, TX surrounded by her loving family. Georgia was born on September 12, 1952 in Nocona, TX to William “Bill” and Essie Grant Fowler.  

Born and raised in Nocona, Georgia was a caring person and a hard-worker always keeping herself busy. Her family meant the world to her and loved everyone she met, helping others anyway she could. She managed apartments in Nocona and always went out of her way to help her tenants.  She married Steve Maier on January 24, 1997 in Gainesville, TX.  They loved each other very much and where one was the other was sure to be.  After the passing of her mother, Georgia took on her mom's roll as the “town ironer” helping people with their clothes.  She was a member of the Church of the Nazarene and was active in the church for many years.  

Georgia is preceded in death by her parents, Bill and Essie Fowler, grandson, Brandon Leverett, and great-nephew, Alex Gomez.  

She is survived by her husband, Steve Maier of Nocona, TX, children, Tracie Wright of McKinney, TX, Angela & husband Chris Shelby of Wichita Falls, TX, Julie & husband Joey Beverage of Nocona, TX, adopted son, Brad LaSalle of Lubbock, TX, brother, Willie Fowler & wife Brenda of Gainesville, TX, grandchildren, Kylah, Tristan, Jordyn, Krysta, Nicholas, Olivia, Grant, Angel and 8 great-grandchildren.  

There will be a visitation on Sunday, February 22, 2026 at Jerry Woods Funeral Home Chapel from 5 – 6 P.M.  A funeral service will follow on Monday, February 23, 2026 at 1 P.M. at Jerry Woods Funeral Home Chapel.  Interment will follow in Nocona Cemetery.  Pallbearers will be Tristan Ramsey, Nicholas Leverett, Jose Gomez, Grant Ramos, Matt Ryan, and Jacky Hill and Honorary Pallbearer Joey Beverage.
