Funeral services for J. M. Simpson, 74, mail messenger here for 14 years, were held Saturday afternoon, July 27, at the First Baptist Church. The rites were conducted by the Rev. L. E. Rambo, pastor, and burial was in Nocona Cemetery with J. H. Cone funeral director in charge.

Mr. Simpson died at his home early Saturday morning following a paralytic stroke which he suffered Wednesday. He was born at Van Buren, Arkansas on January 2, 1861, but spent the greater part of his life here.

He is survived by his widow, a son, Bill Simpson, and two daughters, Mrs. Fred Peters of Nocona, and Mrs. Alma McCloud of Okla. 

Pallbearers were Z. W. Shackelford, L. C. Stouder, J. S. Addington, R. H. Lasseter, George McElroy, and R. L. Cubine.
