Cordie Simpson (Nanny), age 98, of Nocona, TX passed away July 28, 2004 in Nocona, TX.

Mrs. Simpson was born February 16, 1906 to RK and Willie Mae McCarter Gilbert. She married William Robert Simpson \"Bill\" June 5, 1926. She worked as a child care provider for many children in Nocona, she was once employed by the Justin Purse Factory, the B & E Cafe, and at the Central Christian Church for twenty-six years in the nursery. Rumor has it she made the best pies in the county.

Funeral services for Mrs. Simpson were held Friday, July 30, 2004 at 4:00 p.m. at the First Baptist Church in Nocona, TX with Rev. Lamoin Champ officiating. Interment was at the Nocona Cemetery under the direction of Scott Morris Funeral Home.

Surviving relatives include: her children, Dephenia Meier, Wichita Falls, TX; Jimmy Simpson, Lewisville, TX and Robert Simpson, Nocona, TX; five grandchildren, Kay Cook, Carol Hale, Lloyd Simpson, Randy Simpson and Terry Simpson; eleven great-grandchildren; and twelve great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, William Robert Simpson in 1987; a son, Billy in 1995; and a grandson, William Lee Bowman in 1989.

Pallbearers included: Kenneth Nelson, Pete Langford, Hulen Scott, Brett Simpson, Jimmy Hale and Cal Bowman.
