Essie Fowler, 81, died April 22, 2008, in Nocona. She was born June 25, 1926, in Rice to Ernest Wallace Grant and Emily Vice. On Aug. 13, 1944, she married W.C. “Bill�? Fowler in Grandfield, Okla. She was a homemaker and a member of the Church of the Nazarene in Nocona. Funeral service was conducted at 3 p.m. Friday at the Church of the Nazarene in Nocona. Burial followed in Nocona Cemetery, under the direction of the Jerry Woods Funeral Home. She was preceded in death by her parents; and husband on March 22, 2006. Survivors include her son, Willie Fowler of Gainesville; daughter, Georgia Maier of Nocona; sister, Ernestine Platt of Oklahoma City, Okla.; brother, Everett Grant of Nocona; seven grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren. Pallbearers are Ricky Fowler, Randy Fowler, Anthony Lopez, Jimmie Hill, Clint Easlon, and Ricky Ramos. Memorials may be made to the Church of the Nazarene.
