Archie W. Sawyer, 82, of Nocona, TX, passed away February 10, 2011 in Nocona.

Archie was born on August 30, 1928 in Wichita County, TX to Lyle and Leta V. Miler Sawyer. He married Helen Faye Murphy. He owned and operated his own business, Sawyer Plumbing for 25 years, even after he retired he still continued to help the community when they needed. Archie was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Nocona and attended Jean’s Men’s Bible Class in Nocona.

Funeral services were Saturday, February 12, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. at the First United Methodist Church in Nocona with Rev. Jerry Jones and Rev. Rob Messer officiating. Burial followed in Nocona Cemetery. Services were under the direction of Scott-Morris Funeral Home.

Archie is survived by two sons, Larry Sawyer and wife Connie of Denton, Keith Sawyer and wife Cathy of Nocona, one daughter, Leta Ann Talley and husband Jerry of Gainesville, 7 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren, and one brother Roger Sawyer of Nocona.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Lyle & Leta Sawyer, a brother Russell Sawyer, and his wife Helen Sawyer in May 2004.
