Billie Ray Murphey of Nocona, Texas, passed away February 3, 2017. He was 86 years old. 
  Billie Ray was born July 8, 1930, in Nocona, Texas, to William Stokley Murphey and Anna Lee Jennings Murphey. He married Juanita Faye Howerton. They had four children: Raymond Lee, Vicki Lynn, Alan Wayne and Christie Ruth. In 1963, he married Helen Louise Womack. Helen had three young children; Gregory Gene, Karen Galita, and Kathy Louise. Their father had suddenly died in a work incident. On February 21, 1968, the family was blessed with the birth of Kelley Dean.
  Services were Tuesday, February 7, 2017, at 2:00 at Molsbee Chapel in Nocona. Burial followed in the Nocona Cemetery. 
  He is survived by his loving wife of 53 years Helen; children Ray Murphey of Nocona, Texas, Greg Womack of West Columbia, Texas, Vicki Jones  of  Gainesville,  Texas,  Karen  Hutchings of Nocona, Texas, Alan Murphey of Post Oak, Texas, Christie McGuffin  of  Gainesville,  Texas,  Kathy  Hardin  of  Gainesville, Texas; eighteen grandchildren and thirty-nine great-grandchildren; and  brothers  John  Murphey  of  Nocona  and  Jerry  Murphey  of Nocona.
