James Steven Bishop, a long-time resident of Nocona, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, April 23, 2017, in Nocona, TX.  
  
Steve was born on December 23, 1949, to Jimmie D. Plumlee and Phyllis Cardwell Bishop in Nocona, TX.  He was lovingly raised by his maternal grandparents, Lee and Lula Cardwell. He was a graduate of Nocona High School in 1968, and attended Cooke County College and Grayson County College between the years of 1969 and 1974.  He served as a licensed nursing home administrator for the State of Texas.  He married Joy Marlene Lee Bishop on December 9, 1972 at First Baptist Church Nocona.   
  
Steve's service was held on Wednesday, April 26, 2017, at 2 p.m. at First Baptist Church Nocona.  Interment followed in Nocona Cemetery with Rev. Dave Woodbury officiating.   
  
Steve is survived by his wife of 44 and 1/2 years, Joy MarleneLee Bishop; two daughters, Holly and Hayley Bishop, both of Arlington; father, Jim Plumlee of Nocona; and many other loved ones.
